Carlos Medina
Carlos is a virtuoso naive artist from northern El Salvador, shaped by the same landscape of childhood villages that once nurtured Fausto Pérez. Their paths never crossed in a formal way, yet both artists grew out of a shared well of memory, tradition, and the luminous details of rural life.
In Carlos’s paintings, stories bloom with the clarity of lived moments. A wedding spills out of a church into the sunlight. Music stirs the air. Rice arcs upward like tiny blessings. Children gather at an ice cream cart. Bread is lifted warm from an outdoor oven. Someone wheels a load of firewood across the street. His vision is intuitive and unguarded, the very heart of the naive tradition.
Carlos’s art radiates its own brilliance: warm, deeply human, and rooted in affection for the life that shaped him. Collectors are drawn to the honesty in his scenes, the way his brush turns ordinary gestures into something quietly luminous. The artist invites us into a world where joy is threaded through the everyday and where each painting becomes a carefully held remembrance, offered with grace.
