About Tatiana Dmitriyevna Elenok
Tatiana Dmitriyevna Elenok (1930–2013) was a Russian naïve artist whose work radiates sincerity and warmth. Born in the Krasnodar region and later moving to Moscow, she was largely self-taught, turning to art after a modest career outside the arts. Despite early hardships, she developed a distinctive style marked by vivid colors, simplified forms, and heartfelt depictions of Russian life, rural landscapes, village scenes, architecture, and folklore. Her career gained recognition with a solo exhibition in 1973 at the Museum of Modern Art of the Peoples of the USSR in Suzdal, followed by numerous group shows in Russia and abroad, including INSITA in Bratislava. Elenok became a member of international artist associations, and her works entered major museums such as the State Historical Museum and Moscow’s Museum of Naïve Art. Her paintings, often described as poetic and deeply human, preserve the spirit of everyday life and memory with clarity and tenderness.
